In production more and more flexibility is required from the manufacturing companies. Therefore they are searching for production lines that meet this requirement. The machines should enable fast product changes, contribute to even faster trouble shooting and minimize costs. Since 2005 there is the possibility to produce inside Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS). This article discusses the possibilities of the system and analyzes what needs to be taken into account when planning or integrating production machines in a cleanroom.
