Comparison of standard feeding technology vs. sonication feeding technology

Abstract
There is a common trend in microdosing of poor flowability powders. With the increasing development of engineered particles, dosing is getting harder as flowability is further reduced. The vacuum drum dosing is a very robust, precise, and versatile technology, which could be used for dosing from free-flowing powders to highly cohesive powders. However, the feeding of bulk powder is the critical process step, which has significant impact on dosing consistency. The objective of the present investigation was to compare the standard feeding system to a newly developed feeding technology based on sonication.
