C. Lippold, Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf, zum 60. Geburtstag gewidmet Characterization of Macro Molecules, Colloids and Particles by Field-Flow Fractionation Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF) is a versatile elution technique capable of simultaneous separation and measurement of macromolecular, colloidal and particulate systems in a size range from a few nanometers to about 100 µm. This article describes the principle of the method and gives an overview over the major subtechniques of the FFF family. The advantages of the method are demonstrated along with applications. Key words Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF) · Kolloide · Makromoleküle · Physikalische Charakterisierung · Separation |
