KG, Karlsruhe a, und Fachhochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Fachbereich Pharmatechnik b, Sigmaringen Methods for the Determination of Detection Limits for Herbal Mother Tinctures on High-grade Steel Surfaces This paper describes a visual and a UV/VIS spectroscopic method to detect residues of herbal mother tinctures on high-grade steel surfaces. The analytic methods, which are used in the context of the cleaning validation, are compared quantitatively by a method-depending detection limit. For the investigations five different mother tinctures are selected. The detection limit values of the mother tinctures are quantitatively comparable. The visual method leads immediately and without analytic expenditure to a result. Using the UV/VIS method unfavorable is however the high expenditure of time.
