Abstract
Composition and implementation of company-internal pest management
In the pharmaceutical industry, maximum product safety is ensured by complying with the EU GMP Guideline. In addition to detailed mandatory guidelines for microbiology, there are fewer detailed guidelines on macrobiology. In order to meet the GMP demands for company-internal pest management, a comprehensive pest management concept was developed by the Swiss Armed Forces and has been optimized in detail through its practical implementation at 14 outposts. Defined process flows form the overarching construct, with a focus prioritized on prevention followed by monitoring and intervention. Practical process realization is carried out by the use of specific applicable documents. The centerpiece is the risk criteria catalog, which is identified by a consistent, transparent and person-independent assessment and is used together with the EFAT-risk analysis. The individual parameters are flexibly adaptable to the requirements of a location. As a result, the entire pest management concept can be transferred to other (industrial) companies.
