Qualifizierung von Speditionsunternehmen für Transporte in der Pharmaindustrie Dr. Ulrike Langer und Dr. Michael Pfeiffer Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, Abteilung Quality Operations, Ingelheim/Rhein Six haulage contractors which cooperate with Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany, were qualified retrospectively in order to fulfil the requirements of the Medicinal products and active pharmaceutical ingredients production decree (Arzneimittel- und Wirkstoffherstellungsverordnung [AMWHV]) which came into force in November 2006 and to evaluate the quality standards of drug transportation. The qualification process demonstrated, that the transport of medicinal products does not cope in all cases with the quality expectations of the pharmaceutical industry. A close and longer lasting cooperation of the pharmaceutical firms with the haulage contractors can help to improve the quality standards in medicinal products transportation. Haulage companies should learn that the transport of medicinal products follows distinctive rules and the pharmaceutical companies should focus more on the transportation management in order to reach a high quality standard besides operational efficiency and low costs. |
