23.10.2019Phillips-Medisize, a Molex company, announced today an agreement with a leading biotechnology company to manufacture a wearable, electronic-enabled combination product. The product is a post-phase III development-stage combination drug and device that combines two-day, single use, disposable technology for subcutaneous drug delivery. The wearable combination product – which is replaced every two days – is about the size of a hockey puck, and can either be adhered to the patient’s body, via an adhesive patch, or worn near the infusion site. Sartorius signs agreement to acquire select Danaher Life Science platform businesses
23.10.2019Sartorius, a leading partner to the biopharmaceutical Industry and laboratories, has signed an agreement to acquire parts of Danaher’s Life Science Portfolio for approximately $750 million in cash. The businesses had combined sales turnover of approximately $140 million in 2018 with a strong growth profile and double-Digit profit margins. They employ around 300 people worldwide. The proposed transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020 and is subject to customary closing conditions and the successful acquisition of the GE Biopharma business by Danaher. Das Projekt wurde innerhalb von 3,5 Jahren (von der Genehmigung bis zur produktiven Nutzung) realisiert. In diesem Beitrag wird gezeigt, wie in der Planungsphase beim Prozesstransfer von einem manuellen zu einem hoch automatisierten Prozess vorgegangen wurde, und wie es gelungen ist, die Reinraumgröße so klein wie möglich zu gestalten, um die vorhandenen Platzverhältnisse optimal auszunutzen und die Betriebskosten zu senken.
